Hey Kermit ! I don't have Google Earth working ( if you post a link..?) but can't imagine there's more than one Garage Fischer in Colmar though. Yeah, a good place. If you ( or anyone) wants to hit the place let us know - it's not too far for me and I always need some items.. BX and Skyline - that's an interesting brew!

Hi toddao

Hoping to get into france somtime next year.
got a few things to do around the house before then.

The skyline is a bit of a beast to say the least been doing things to it for some time nowshe has a little bit more pulling power than the BX.
but give her full boost and she drinks petrol at the rate of 5 miles to the gallon just over 1 litre per 1.6 kilometers.(not your daily run around)
Last time i ran the skyline in anger she clocked a 0 to 62mph time of 4.15 seconds in the wet so she doesn't hang about.Special occasions only!
I prefer the BX to drive every day it keeps my fuel bills down.(55+mpg on a long run)
my BX is on her way to 282000miles at present and is due for her mot next month.
last year the only thig i had to do was sort out a bad earth on the rear lights so fingers crossed she should sail through.

If and when i do get to that part of france i will let you know in advance.
I think the breakers yards in france are better for BX's than here in blighty
there are two or three breakers near to me but very few BX's in them worth taking parts off of.

regards Kermit.

Hi toddao

Just looked on google and i dont know if its the same over there but you can download it for free on google earth.
It will probably have pictures that are about four years old if it is the same as it is here.
but for free it aint bad.
Give it a try as i dont know how to send you a link.

On the subject of breakers (well this thread is sort of about breakers...) - does anyone know of any in northern France - Pas de Calais, St Omer area?

And 0 -60 in 4 ish seconds in a CAR? That must be fun. (can do on the bike, but in 4 wheels, have never had the chance)

I am with you on the scrap yard bit in northern france would be very handy and easy to get to through the tunnel.
Any easy to fit parts you may as well fit them there dump the scrap bits and drive home environmentally friendly what

In answer to your comment about the 0 to 60 in 4 ish seconds yes it was quite a surprise especially since it was at silverstone on the runway and it had been raining.
its the sort of thing that makes you realise that power IS everything.
