He had loads of them, some were in bits for sale as spares. I never bothered about them at the time but i should have bought the lot!
I spoke to the guy who did buy the lot at the CCC rally in Huntingdon this year. He managed to make one good computer out of all the bits, and it now happily resides in his Mk1 GT.

I do have digital photos of the instruction booklet if anyone's interested.

As far as I know, the computers were fitted to the early GTs but were dropped and fitted to the Digit instead when it came along. Hence mine has a bog-standard LCD clock :( (which doesn't work properly so if anybody has a spare... )

OK, instructions below. Bit of a compromise between file size, legibility and gobbling up too much of Jon's valuable bandwidth. PM if you want copies of the originals.

What wonderful instructions. It's great to see something different for a change and the trip computer instructions certainly are that.

Getting back to the actual trip computer, I have been doing a bit of digging.
The trip computer I'm after is for the Mk2 and was optionally fitted to LHD GTI's only.

I have had several offers for trip computers for the Mk1 but nothing for the Mk2.

Now as I mentioned, the trip computer was never available in the UK, nor any RHD countries and this is what's making it a headache for me. Here are some images of the computer from Citroën Service.

The clock looking thing is the display.

I bought one of the mk1 computers of ebay last year which came with the senders etc but no loom.
Was originally hoping to fit it to the 16v but it doesn't fit in the correct place as the screen is obscured by the radio flap on mk2's!

However the screen does remove from the cluster so I'm hoping to fit the screen into where the clock goes (in the tray at the top).

If all that fails, I'll give it to my dad and he can fit it to the GT!

I may be looking for some bits for one of these at some point soon, as the Digit has a factory fit one but I can't convince myself that it's even slightly working. The backlight has gone so it's a bit of a guess at the moment as to what is and isn't working.

I've heard that even when they are in full working order their accuracy was iffy at best. Certainly the fuel measuring sensor is similar to what was fitted to my Talbot Horizon SX, and that had a fuel measurement accuracy of +-30% on a good day.

I had a closer look at theose instructions posted and it sounds great, though a little fiddly.

It's amazing that this stuff was available over 20 years ago.

Even though accuracy may be a bit average I don't really care. To me it looks good and it raises the profile of a car that was already modern at the time even more.

I can only assume that the Mk2 trip computer was the same as the Mk1 except that they relocated the pinpad to the useless coin holder and the screen up on the dash where the clock normally is.

I really want a Mk2 Trip computer now!

Help, please anyone?

I don't think that I've ever seen one fitted to a Mk2 BX except in brochures.

Hi everybody ! first , sorry for my english not perfect as it should be ! i am a french bx's owner , i have a BX19GTI 1988 model , red furio , with alloy wheels , black heated leather seats , ABS , and a real board computer for série 2 ! Now this car has been putted in parts because the engine is dead , and i didn t want to put money in this car (270 000kms)! So ,I've bought a BX19TZI estate "tecnic"" katalysator " (all that is written in the back of the car !!)white with automatic gearbox ! a german model with green windows , and i ve decided to put all interesting options from the GTI on this car ! Here a picture of the board computer when it was on my GTI , and another when i've taken it off ! It works perfectly !!!! :D
this board computer is rare , in France too , because it was only available till july 1986 to march 1987 in only BX 16TRS , BX 19TRS , BX 19GTI and BX 19TRS estate ! It costed 1240 frs .
now here the pics : :D
