Strip out the door.( to make it easier to remove the regulator tape the window to the top frame with tank/duck tape)
remove the nuts around the motor end of the regulator 4x10mm
remove the regulator (this is a bit trick)disconnect the wire from the motor
untape the glass and carefully remove upwards from the door.(clean edges of glass)
look at the pivot on the window regulator.
remove the rubber channel from the door and clean it out in soapy water.
clean out the channel into which the rubber fits.( dry the rubber and spray some pledge or mr sheen in the glass side flock covered part of the rubber
refit the rubber channel taking care to line up the top rear corner make sure it is fully home.
grease the runners and make sure the rollers on the regulator and the window are clean rust free and well greased.
fit the glass in reverse of its removal make sure that the glass is in the rubber channel at both ends and that is moves up and down freely.
retape the glass or if you have someone helping get them to hold it.
refit the regulator reconnect the wire( the tricky bit is getting the rollers in the two channels on the window and in the channel on the door skin at the same time) (the small channel on the door is adjustable to get the glass running up the door corectly 1 x10mm nut)
this is not an easy job but the satisfaction when your window goes up and down with ease its worth the cuts and swearing
clean the glass and refit all internal parts and robert is your mothers brother
Regards Kermit

The drivers window on my BX was rather slow when I bought the car. The cure - silicon spray on the guides and especially the inside and outside of the seal at the base of the glass. This treatment lasts me about a year when I simply repeat it.
How long has this been going on - about 9 years now!
Even a new motor won't wind the windows fast if the glass is sticking in the guides.
