No me! But it would be of interest surely, wouldn't it, to one of our members? 8)

Yes, looks a nice clean motor & claimed to be mechanically sorted! :D

(Bonnet respray costs to consider though :? )

Not necessarily Way2go. The silver 'long nose' bonnet he has (1st pic) won't be a problem (other that being not original) with cooling: mine has the same. There's be no urgency to changing it IMHO. (and you could always sell the darker grey one to me - it's the right colour already! as I would actually quite like originality :D )

:?: Not for me, the 16v is a nice car but I actually prefer the 8v GTi to it as it has better low down power and good for overtaking on the roads round here with silly speed limits and cameras. I've had a few now and they've all been good whereas the 16v was temperamental and seemed to suddenly develop its kick much higher up.

I should have said 'one' :D

I tend to agree, about GTi's. there's a slight difference in 'value' and importantly recent investment (!) but I would consider swapping my 16v for a nice 8v auto with air conditioning. Hang on I had a nice one - once. If I'd spent the money on that rather than fanny about with Toyotas and stuff I would have been better off...

The 16v encourages one to drive a little more 'agressively' I think.

Sorry Phil, I know mine ticks these boxes but its not available for swap or even for sale.
(I did have reservations on it's performance once but since getting the injectors cleaned/serviced it made it go like the proverbial sh*t off a shovel :D ,
Motronic injection model too 8) )
