Talk about rare!

Could make a really nice car: A project acheivable by most I would have thought. Rarity contributes to price, but some might still think it's too expensive. Without being unkind, I would have thought £450-£550 was nearer the mark...

What's ZOMFG BTW?

We had one exactly like that - well, except it was a lot more rusty - even nearly 20 years ago - and it was multi coloured by the time I'd rebuilt the front 3 times (twice me, once my Sister). Citroen laughingly call that colour Fawn Beige. S**t brown more like!

2 cly Visa are a right scream - you need to keep up the momentum at all costs, and with no roll bar on the rear cornering is roly poly to say the least. The brakes are shocking - no servo means you really have to lean on them if you want to stop. Teaches young drivers a lot about drivig with anticiaption though  40mpg is more like it, unless you routinely bury the throttle and get the 2nd choke wide open - then it a) makes a lot more noise and b) uses a lot more petrol; but this does not lead to the obvious c) - go any faster!

Will cruise at 70 all day - provided the oil is good - and you haven't left the winter blaking plate in - I did this when recommissioning in the summer. Was wondering why it was idling rough then realised half way home. Whipped the plate out thinking hmm, rather hot under there, then going up a big hill it began to slow down. Eventually, just as I was thinking "b****er it's going to seize" it suddenly eased and we were back to 'normal' motoring.

Boy, was I the butt of some jokes at school when I had a brown car with minimal power - mind you, tunes were soon changed if someone wanted a lift!

Oh, and somebody should tell him it's 652cc - those extra 2 ccs make all the difference!

Ah, happy days. I'd be seriously interested if it was nearer.....

Polos had non-servo brakes too didn't they? Had a couple (short term) and they were horrible.
How many Visas are actually still on the road out of that number left?

That's exactly the reason why the CCC has model registers, to attempt to answer these questions. :) It only provides a rough idea, because unknowns keep popping out of the woodwork every now and then... I'll go and ask the question on the Visa forum over there.

Cheers,

We had one of these from new in 1984, brilliant little car.
We had a few incidents in it - the oil froze in the sump when it was parked nose to garage door and it snowed and a very cold draught came in under the door - the bonnet flew up once with a vintage Rolls coming the other way, we managed to pull up in time - someone in a Mk 1 Fiesta spun on some ice and the wife T' d them, hit the Ford by the drivers door and wrote the Fiesta off, the Visa only needed a new front wing.
Paul in Normandy - BX 1992 Millesme 1.9D, 1999 Peugeot 806 2.1 TD (the Bus) - gone bang on the M25, in a scrapyard somewhere in the SE of England, 1985 Visa Decouvrable, 1990 Land Rover 110TD (Great Uncle Bulgaria),1999 Isuzu Trooper, 1991 Hymer motorhome with Peugeot J5TD power, and a shedfull of mopeds!
