Sounds excellent, hope it keeps up! Have you taken those horrible tacky wheel trims off it?

No, I've just had no time at all! Sitting ready in my wardrobe are a mint set of GTi trims bought from eBay:

I used my lunch hour today to sort out the warm air tube: I duck-taped the saveable remnant of the tube I split on Monday to a new tube to make a length long enough to reach comfortably. It is a snug fit round the pipe on the inlet manifold but I had to duck-tape it at the other end cos I had no screwdriver to remove the jubilee clip still holding the remains of the old tube onto the pipe on the cold/warm air selector box. I'll do a proper job when I get a moment. Looks as though I'll be doing a number of jobs on Christmas Eve... bloody winter, no daylight, no access to the garage... whinge whinge  :)

The only bit that isn't as good as the other Meteor is the bodywork. The chrome strips on the bumpers are a bit mangled at both ends of the car, there's a scratch on a rear door and a small dent in the front passenger door. But hardly any rust!!

Mark.
