FS: 1992 TXD Turbo, silver, £SOLD

Post by Dollywobbler »

With the incoming Wooscary estate, I need to move my TXD Turbo on.

Full details here: http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... 13&t=16945" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In summary, very good structure bar one or two areas. The passenger front door hinge has had a messy but strong repair, there's some corrosion behind the rear bumper that needs tackling (not an MOT issue unless you fit a tow bar) and there's some jacking damage to the offside sill.

Had a cambelt around 94k miles and a clutch around that time (albeit a cheap one, it does judder). Now has 109,800 on it. I've had the rear arm bearings replaced, one rear brake pipe, offside front lower balljoint, both strut returns (from AEP), offside front caliper and both handbrake cables (brand new). Still has a minor weep from the FDV. Front pads are brand new, other discs/pads far from old.

It drives really nicely, though the spheres may benefit from a re-gas. Or it might just be me used to softer BX spheres. Accumulator sphere is brand new. Height controllers are a little reluctant - no intermediate and lever needs a tug to get it to rise.

Paintwork is pretty poor, especially the bonnet and the rear spoiler. Interior is very tidy. Heater control is not that good but the tap does still move manually. Heater fan works on all settings. Both front windows and the sunroof work well, though the sunroof switch is a bit reluctant in the Up position.

Roof rack available, but not the ladder.

Forgot to mention - MOT November, tax up end of March but can renew at cost. Rear speaker options are stupidly huge or none at all - I have two parcel shelves for it.

Need to sort my self out. As in money first. Still got this credit card to pay off. And get out of the overdraft. Moneys a bit shit now a days.
I get paid weekly. At first i thought it be better then monthly pay. But for some reason. It seems more of a challenge. Getting weekly pay.
Plus fuel is going up and up. I do 40 miles a day to and from work. For crappy 204 pound a week it sucks. It all went down hill when i bought the laguna. Very nice car but cost a bomb to run. It was a petrol. I remember putting 15 pound in the bx. It seemed to last me a week. Compered to 50 to 60 pound in the laguna
Im still chuffed with my basic xantia. Been the best car. st 290 about a year ago getting on. Ive had no problem s with it. Apart from tyers and trying to get the door locks sorted
One day when things get better i might be back on the seen.
The 2 bxes ive own was very different cars The black tzd a bitch very unconfertuble. But got to where you want to go. The red txd. Superb to drive good engine. But bad body work. What killled it.

If you've got a tidy Xantia Paul that's delivering the goods, I'd stick! I think they're lovely cars and if you've got one you can really rely on - you're lucky! 8)

Yes it is a good car but it hasn't got that something the bx has. The cool thing about owning a bx. Is that's its different. Stands out in the car park. And can give them boy racers a good flashing lol

Over here.

My Pug 205 diesel has been sold so I need an interesting daily, this looked ideal. Terrifying, but ideal.

I'm sure this won't be the last post of mine

Glad you joined up Gareth! Having just got my latest BX home, I've realised just how nicely this TXD drives. Mind you, it has done almost 200,000 miles less...
