Sucking noise.

Post by burraston2006 » Fri Sep 26, 2014 5:12 pm

When cruising the car is fine however when you boot it between 2500 and 4000 revs there is a noticeable sucking noise. Is it something to do with the turbo? I have only noticed it recently and I am sure it didn't do it a couple of weeks back.

Do you have Air Con?

A low refrigerant charge will do that.

No Aircon. If I'm hot I have to do the usual and roll the window down!

Sorry for the delay - yes, if it's just the hose come off or split, it's easy enough - very easy depending on exactly which one it was. I had the same thing recently after I'd had the intercooler off for cleaning and had forgotten to tighten one of the jubilee clips holding the plastic trunking onto the hose which actually goes to the turbo (the one that sits to the left of the intercooler as you look at the engine from the front). 10 second job to refit and tighten it up.
