Coolant temp sensor?

I get this too - especially in the winter. Accompanied by revs waving up and down from 500 - 2000 rpm.

In my case it's not the coolant temp sensor but I can fully understand why that might be a logical port of call.

I'm planning on overhauling all the air inlet/bypass hoses to double check there aren't any leaks will report back.

What other engine management sensors are temperature-dependent apart from the CTS?

also worth checking the springs for the butterfly valves on the throttle body, these often break or become loose...one of mine has and I get a slightly high idle as a result..

Airleaks are usually the cause of erratic rpm's, my gti suffered from this i ended up completely removing the SAD (choke valve) and blocking up the air inlet/outlets.
