Mk II Front O/S wing needed..

Post by themildbunch »

Hi - after a little accident with a parent and my outer wing left on their drive on a welding day I now need a new Front O/S wing! It fits, just, but doesn't look pretty..

Preferably in Metallic grey, if I'm really lucky, - have to check the paint code later...

It's for an estate but I'm sure the front wings are the same - the rubbing strip is wider but I don't expect they changed the panel pressing just for a different trim design...

thanks

Estate wings are the same AFAIK - if there was any difference it would be as you say, behind the trim strip anyway, and trim strips differ between the saloon as well, depending on the age/model rather than because it's an estate or hatch.
I've got some spare wings, but I suspect you'll find someone with one rather closer to you!
Remind me which is off side again..

Depending on how bad the damage is (can you post up a photo?) I might be able to help with a swap. I have a silver estate which is reasonably tidy, but I'm not too bothered about cosmetics, so I could perhaps put your damaged one on in its place?

Distance may be an issue though, I'm in North Wales and would be reluctant to entrust a wing to a courier as it may end up in a similar state to your current one!

Thank you - I never remember! Mind you, I'll have forgotten again in about half an hour...

Pretty sure I've got a spare r/h wing, but it'll be in white. And on the wrong side the channel (although that could be overcome if time's not of the essence).

Oh, it's not too bad, mushed at the front by the indicator - beat it about as best as I could but it'll never be quite right I imagine...

Frustrating end to a day of trying to make the car better and last longer!
