Radiator bottom (and other) hoses

A search on your VIN brings up...
BX 1.6L (XU52C) carburettor
RPO 5139 (= 4 Dec 1990)
BVM5 4x2
Single A/C
"Image" special spec

Coolant hoses for the 1580 carburettor engine...
.
Marc's Meteor hoses 1580cc.JPG
Two shown, cars w/ and w/o A/C.
Both NFP.

Couldn't find either on Pieces de Rechange, Mister Auto, or Metalcaucho.
The hose internal diameters are at least shown, so mighty be possible to use general-purpose straights and bends.

Didn't realise you had A/C on it, Marc.

many thanks for this.

No, I don't have AC, nor was it ever fitted

I am not sure I am reading this diagram correctly. - part 6 looks possible.though I dont believe it has a T piece with a another pipe attached - part 12. could be wrong.

The hose I need comes out of the bottom of the radiator - drivers side, stays below the crank and comes in behind the engine - I can't see where.
You can see a small section of the pipe from the lower wheel arch - this is the section of pipe that rubs against something ( one sort of arm, it was explained to me but I forget). apparently not an unknown issue.

Again, many thanks for looking for me.

No, VIN number was right, and that's the diagram that comes up, both via the VIN, and via a BX 1580cc search.
Factory spec definitely says A/C, but likely just an arror - not unknown on the system.

Hopefully someone else can help identify the hose.

Thanks again. Is the bx1580 the 72hp engine. Do you know.

Even today it is not unknown for manufactures spec to differ from actual car. Last year we got a new discovery sport hse. Manufacture listed rear entertainment screens. None were fitted.

Thanks

91hp - happy days.
Though currently has around 15hp, misfires and close to undriveable. Removed and checked the plugs -all good. Though HT leads are stiffer than pipe cleaners. So suspect they are part of the issue. New leads on the way. :)

Thanks again.

Marc,

Although maybe not actually connected, while looking up info today on your Meteor (which I think is essentially a carburetted 16TRS), the year of the car rang a bell. So a link to this post:
viewtopic.php?p=268719#p268719

I have no idea whether the flat-spot issue was ever finally addressed for production vehicles, and I can't help with translating those two Peugeot parts into their modern PSA part numbers.

You've got plenty to sort out anyway, but I thought I'd throw this in.

Weirdly I had read this before.

No flat spot. Just intermittent Mis fires, so replacing plugs leads and possibly ignition module. Fuel filter looks good.havnt stripped carb yet.
When it’s running smooth I may try rejetting to see if I can get a few more HP

Yes. Over 200 miles on the motorway recently

I also noticed that the fuel filter was only about 30% full of petrol. Seems low to my inexperienced eyes.

Today was a sad day, I had to take the virginity of my front nearside door card, and remove it. :(

In other news, I was able to install a replacement door mirror ( Thanks to Rutter123 for supplying the part ). happy days.

Sadly, despite my best efforts - parking the car in the sun so the door and the inside of the car was nice and warm, one of the door card plastic retainers didn't survive the ordeal.
I am not replacing the door card as it refitted back to the door just fine. Though am considering making up a retainer - just for kicks, as I have to remove the door card again in the future to upgrade the speakers and install sound sound deadening.

RIP plastic "thingy ma jig"

I'd make a few spare retainers, as retainer loss/breakage is on average 1 per door card removal, I found a few broken ones laying in bottom of door and now down to 4 holding the door card on.
