It started working again today and promptly packed up again
Any idea where I can get one, are the Mk1 and MK2 the same?

Re: DKK
All the same, as far as I know, but unavailable new, so if you take a used one from an older car you could end up in the same situation. Last three I've fitted have all played up within months of fitting.panky wrote: Thu May 23, 2024 4:37 pm It started working again today and promptly packed up againAny idea where I can get one, are the Mk1 and MK2 the same?

My latest Ebay bargain
I've been looking for one for a while and this came up for £15 advertised as being fitted to a Honda

Not sure if they were originally available for a Mk1 but I like it

The sunroof wind deflector, I can speed along with the sunroof wide open with barely a ruffle of me curls now
A bit less wind noise from up there too.

Re: DKK
MOT next week so a swift look over revealed a pin holed drive shaft boot and suspected play in one of the rack end ball joints - that turned out to be the lock nut on the track rod had worked loose so easy fix. I'd actually sent for the joint so have it in stock now if I ever need it. Luckily it was the left hand driveshaft boot that needed changing so a pretty straight forward job.

Clean pass
Running a bit lean but passed emissions without issue but need to figure out how to adjust mixture slightly.
Edit:
Found the idle mixture screw and took it out 1/4 turn, that should do it. I'll see what my Gunsons meter says when I get a chance.

Re: DKK
I've read a few post that recommend fitting relays to the head light circuit to make life easier for the switches so I bought a kit off ebay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365293088292
Dead easy to fit - It took less than an hour including investigating a non working side light (loose connection), finding a place for the relays and cable tying the wiring in place. The difference is noticeable even with the original bulbs so the original wiring must cause a fair resistance as the headlights are brighter now and I can safely fit the Nightbreakers I've ordered.

Re: DKK
That's a worthwhile mod then? Although I have the kit it is one I have never fitted as I just make do with the yellowing glow from the original setup.
One mod I have always done on all my BXs is to connect the dashboard lights to the lights circuit not the ignition so that I always know that I have my external lights on when needed and with the incidental gain of extending the lifetime of the bulbs.
Another mod I have done once or twice is to make the wiper blade park on the drivers side, it stops the water being blown up the screen.
Then there's the famous 5th gear ratio change to reduce revs and noise at speed.

The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

Before and after

Doesn't look much in the pics but there is a difference, same bulbs with relay kit fitted.
